Celebrate 125 Years of Community at Paxson Hall’s “Friends for all Time Gala”

Friends Village, an independent living and personal care community built on Quaker values, with a focus on purpose, community, wellness, and kindness, comprises two campuses, Paxson Hall, located on Congress Street in Newtown Borough and its Styer Campus, located on Lower Dolington Road in Newtown.  Friends Village also serves the community beyond its walls through educational programs that promote healthy aging, technological literacy, and social connection. These initiatives support older adults throughout the region and reflect the organization's enduring commitment to a community-centered life grounded in service.

Paxson Hall, completed in 1900 and gifted to the organization, has long served as a foundation of care, community, and connection. Built in the Colonial Revival style, the building features wide porches, original woodwork, and tall windows that flood the space with natural light. Nestled in Newtown’s historic district, Paxson Hall stands not only as an architectural gem but as a living symbol of Quaker values.

This year marks a remarkable milestone for Paxson Hall—125 years since it first opened its doors.

In honor of this legacy, the community is invited to a special evening at  Paxson Hall’s “Friends for all Time Gala”, taking place on October 11 from 5 – 9 pm at 50 South Congress Street in Newtown. The Gala promises an evening rich with history, music, and celebration. Guests will enjoy live performances by The Footstompers and The Creswell Club, along with a whimsical Mystery Tour written by Ann D'Silva. This light-hearted exploration of Paxson Hall and its grounds invites attendees to uncover quirky secrets—and maybe even solve a charming mystery. Culinary delights by Joseph’s Premier Catering will round out the experience.

The Gala is more than a celebration—it’s a fundraiser to support the ongoing restoration and preservation of Paxson Hall, ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.

Celebrate history, friendship, and a future full of promise. Step back in time with us and support a beloved landmark that continues to shape lives today.
