Bonnie & Clyde: The Musical, Coming to the Newtown Theatre Stage

Posted

The infamous story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow comes to life in Bonnie & Clyde: The Musical, hitting the stage at the historic Newtown Theatre from April 24-27. Known for their string of bank robberies, burglaries, and violent clashes with law enforcement during the Great Depression, Bonnie and Clyde became national figures through newspaper coverage and staged photographs. As part of the Barrow Gang, their crime spree captivated the nation until their dramatic ambush and death in 1934. Their legacy continues to inspire books, films, and music.

“Bonnie and Clyde,” book by Ivan Menchell, lyrics by Don Black, and music by Frank Wildhorn, is a musical that tells the passionate and gripping tale of the outlaw couple, weaving romance, ambition, and tragedy into an electrifying musical. The show follows their journey from small-time crooks to America’s most wanted, blending rockabilly, blues, and gospel into a dynamic score. Premiering in 2009 and making its Broadway debut in 2011, the musical gained a devoted following despite its brief run.
