Bucks County Community College proudly presents Bucks Live!, a series of innovative programs that entertain, inspire, and enrich Bucks County’s cultural landscape. Take in world-class live music, dance, and theatrical performances close to home and at an affordable price.
The 10th Annual Bucks Blues Explosion featuring Nikki Hill takes the stage at 7:30 pm, Friday, April 3. Rolling Stone Magazine wrote, “Think Tina Turner fronting AC/DC and you’ll have half of the picture. … Nikki Hill is a revelation, her band masters of rocket-fueled bluesy swing, her voice the beacon which calls you home…” In partnership with the Bucks Blues Society, the show opens with Mike Guldin and Rollin’ & Tumblin.
Next, the Atlantic Mandolin Quartet performs at 7:30 pm, Friday, April 17. With a shared passion for both tradition and innovation, the ensemble brings new energy to a repertoire of classical, romantic, and contemporary works. The AMQ features members hailing from around the globe: founder Ekaterina Skliar from Russia, Carrera Stamile from South Carolina, Gabriel Locati from Philadelphia, and Dor Gidon Amran from Israel.
Finally, step back in time with Rumours: The Ultimate Tribute to Fleetwood Mac at 7:30 pm, Saturday, April 25. From period-accurate costumes to spot-on characterizations and musical performances, Rumours takes you back to a time when music was still an unbridled cultural experience.
All performances take place in the Zlock Performing Arts Center on the Newtown Campus at 275 Swamp Rd. in Newtown, where there is ample free parking. Come early for refreshments at the Zlock Lobby Bar. Learn more and purchase tickets at bucks.edu/tickets.
