“Local knowledge, Lush lawns: RD’s 5 secrets for lawn success”

Posted

The Dittes family started their Lawncare business in 2018. Ryan and Lindsay are local owners and operators who live in Langhorne with their three children. They have been blessed with great customers and even better employees along the way.

They specialize in lawn fertilizer and weed control programs. They are the family-owned company to call for a green and weed-free lawn. You know you are getting a personal touch with the founder and owner in the daily operations.

RD’s Total Lawn wanted to share their top 5 tips for a healthy lawn this season. They are also booking out the schedule now for aeration and overseeding services for September/October.

  •  1/3 Rule: The goal is to not take more than 1/3 of the size of the lawn blade down when cutting the lawn. Anything beyond 1/3 the size of the blade will stress the lawn. So, try to avoid letting the grass get too long and mowing it down too short.
  • Sharp blades: -You want to ensure your blades are sharp to cut the grass rather than tear it with a dull blade.
  • Feed your turf: -Whether it’s DIY or using a service, you’ll want to give your lawn regular fertilizer feedings.
  1. Water in the morning: It’s best to water your grass in the morning. This allows for the water to get to the soil before the blazing sun evaporates it. Avoid nighttime watering as sitting water overnight can promote fungus.
  2. Aerate and overseed in the fall: - As the summer winds down there is no better thing to do for your lawn in September/October than to aerate and overseed. This will help bring the lawn back from summer stress.

The family appreciates your business and support! They encourage you to check out their reputation online at www.RDTotalLawn.com.
