The J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services of Morrisville offers more than traditional funeral services to veterans, area families, and local residents.

“We do not take a typical, cookie-cutter approach to our funeral services like most other funeral homes in Bucks County,” explains Steve Ullrich, the family-owned funeral home’s owner and supervisor. “We take advantage of 21st century technology to customize every service for each family and personalize every funeral, especially for veterans.”

A short drive from Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, the funeral chapel specializes in complete funeral arrangements for qualified honorably discharged veterans. Hooper provides eligible veterans with a free metal casket, regardless of the cemetery selected. For burials at Washington Crossing, veterans and their spouses receive a grave, burial vault, grave opening, headstone, American flag, and military funeral, including a 21-gun salute, saving families approximately $12,000.

Established in 1923, the chapel handles about 150 funerals annually. Its spacious, beautifully decorated facility includes a large chapel with pews, private sitting and living rooms, manicured grounds, and ample on-site parking. It is fully handicapped-accessible.

“We can also handle arrangements for non-traditional, off-site venues to hold a memorial service, such as wineries, parks or other locations,” adds Steve. “We have an excellent relationship with the clergy, as well as with the Elks, American Legion, V.F.W. and Masonic Lodges in the Morrisville area.”

The experienced team provides compassionate care that reflects the funeral home’s motto: Our Services are Not Just a Day in a Lifetime, We Celebrate a Lifetime in a Day.”

Families are given tools to celebrate and memorialize their loved ones using state-of-the-art technology. “Everything is tailored and personalized to the person being memorialized. We offer free video memorial tributes, and families receive their own free website,” notes Steve, who has over 45 years of funeral experience.

Families also receive complimentary tribute items including a personalized register book, memorial candle, portrait, tribute blanket, and temporary grave marker.

“We are flexible and full-service. We want families and friends of the deceased to feel better when they leave here than when they first came in.”
