This December, Newtown Arts Company invites audiences to fall in love with the enchanting musical, “She Loves Me”, lighting up the stage of the Newtown Theatre December 4–7, 2025.
With a book by Joe Masteroff, music by Sheldon Harnick, and lyrics by Jerry Bock, “She Loves Me” is based on the play by Miklós László, famously adapted into the beloved films “The Shop Around the Corner” and “You’ve Got Mail”. Originally directed and produced on Broadway by Harold Prince in association with Lawrence N. Kasha and Philip C. McKenna, with original orchestrations by Don Walker and adaptation by Frank Matosich, Jr., the show continues to charm audiences with its timeless wit, warmth, and message that love can bloom when and where it’s least expected.
This production is directed by Mary Liz Ivins, music directed by Blue Colacchio, and produced by Lisa Reiser and Melissa Victor. Taking center stage are Morgaine Ford-Workman as Amalia Balash and Connor Riley as Georg Nowack, the spirited shop clerks whose daily squabbles mask a secret romance unfolding through anonymous letters exchanged via a lonely-hearts club.
Set in a 1930s European perfume shop, “She Loves Me” sparkles with humor, melody, and heart. As winter snow falls outside Maraczek’s Parfumerie, love and laughter swirl inside—mixing mistaken identity, musical magic, and plenty of holiday cheer. Featuring a score by the Tony Award–winning team behind “Fiddler on the Roof”, this romantic comedy delivers warmth, wit, and the undeniable joy of live theatre.
Performances run Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, December 6 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, December 7 at 2 pm at the Newtown Theatre, located in the heart of historic Newtown Borough.
Celebrate the season with a show that proves even in the busiest time of year, there’s always room for music, magic, and love.
