This year marks a special milestone for the Pennsbury Scholarship Foundation (PSF) as it celebrates its 70th anniversary of supporting local students in their pursuit of higher education.
Founded in 1956, the PSF was created by community members who believed that all Pennsbury students should have access to higher education or trade school opportunities. Seventy years later, that commitment remains strong. Through the generosity of local residents, families, alumni, and businesses, the PSF has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to nearly 2,000 Pennsbury graduates, helping make college and other postsecondary education more accessible.
A hallmark of the PSF is its namesake scholarships, which were established to honor or remember individuals or organizations connected to the Pennsbury community. These scholarships allow donors to recognize loved ones while directly supporting students. Together, these named awards illustrate the deep and personal investment the community has made in education.
To mark this milestone anniversary, the PSF is planning a 70th Anniversary Banquet on October 24. The event will celebrate the PSF’s rich history, honor its supporters and namesake donors, as well as the broader Pennsbury community that has sustained the PSF for seven decades. Additional details will be shared in the coming months.
As the PSF looks ahead, it remains committed to strengthening the Pennsbury community by investing in its students and their futures.
