The Philadelphia area’s longest-running large-scale, haunted attraction, the Valley of Fear, is celebrating its 35th year of fear this Halloween season with 21 performances planned.
Founded in 1990, originally operating at a horse farm in Buckingham, as Haunted Hayrides ®, the event moved to Feasterville’s historic Phoenix Sports Club in 1996 and, except for closing for public safety in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been in continuous operation since then.
Three scintillating attractions are offered, including the Original Haunted Hayride®, Miles Manor Haunted House, and Captain Willie’s Shipwreck Cove, a thrilling haunted forest walk with a Caribbean pirate theme.
In recent years, the event has adopted a festival theme at its large Pumpkin’ Head’s Picnic Grove, featuring a variety of food trucks, vendors, and entertainment each night. For adults' enjoyment, the Phoenix Club offers a selection of beer, wine, and seltzer beverages.
“Our production for our 35th season is bigger and better than ever before," states Creative Director and Vice President of Operations, Robert Dovan.,
According to Senior Supervisor Mike DaGrossa, “we have the best haunt actors in the industry supported by great supervisors and theatrical sets all designed to startle and entertain.”
Adds the organization’s founder and president, Tom Yaegel, “We are thrilled to be celebrating the 35th season of providing local fall entertainment. At the Phoenix Sports Club.” He continues, “The popularity of the event has spread throughout the Greater Delaware Valley and beyond, drawing visitors from up and down the Middle Atlantic States, from New York to southern Delaware.
