Fall is a wonderful time to gather, celebrate and try something new at Friends Village. Mark your calendar for the Friends for All Time Gala: Disco Ball, happening Saturday, Oct. 10, from 5–9 p.m. at the Friends Village Styer Campus. Tickets are now on sale for an evening filled with music, dancing and community spirit.
This year’s gala celebrates an important chapter in Friends Village history. In 1979, the Styer property was sold to Friends Village, creating a second campus and expanding an organization whose roots in Newtown stretch back more than a century. The Disco Ball will honor the people, vision and community spirit that helped Styer grow into the vibrant campus it is today. Proceeds support the mission of Friends Village and its commitment to creating a community where older adults can live with purpose, connection and opportunity. Visit www.friends-village.org/tickets for more information or to purchase tickets.
September’s calendar offers many ways to learn, move and connect. Tai Chi begins Sept. 2 and continues weekly through early November, while Yoga for Seniors continues through Sept. 24. Friends Village also offers programs through Senior Planet, a national initiative that helps older adults stay connected, confident and engaged through technology, wellness and lifelong learning.
More programs are planned throughout the fall. Visit www.friends-village.org regularly and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for events, registration information and updates.
