The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lower Bucks, which holds services at the Pen Ryn School on Sunday mornings, September through May, is a spiritual group which gathers to explore life’s questions, support one another, and promote justice. The weekly gatherings often include engaging speakers, music, reading from multiple sources, and a sharing of our joys and sorrows.
Unitarian Universalists share strong values, with love being the central value that holds us together. The other values, considered inseparable from one another, include interdependence, generosity, justice, equity, transformation and pluralism. On any given Sunday, those in attendance are likely to have a unique and stimulating experience, leaving them with thought-provoking points to ponder!
Some services include traditions, like the water communion, where participants bring small amounts of water that are meaningful to them, and merge them in a communal bowl, or the flower communion, where participants bring different flowers and place them in a central vase to celebrate their unique contributions to the community.
The Unitarian Universalist faith is also rooted in honoring wisdom and traditions from other religious traditions. Our beautiful candlelight Christmas Eve service includes stories, carols, and a renewed commitment to justice.
Our upcoming annual Passover Seder is one of our favorite services. This rousing event, which is led by Janet Weinstein Kelly, Rich Kelly, and our extremely talented resident musician, Avi Wisnia, combines a traditional family Seder with music, dance, and ends in a delicious feast. This service, on March 29 at 10:30 am, will promote pluralism, equity and justice through the inclusion of those from different backgrounds and a focus on helping those who are oppressed. To learn more, we invite you to stop by on Sunday or to go to UUFLB.org.
